Al Bangura is a Boston native whose story has always been shaped by learning how to navigate different spaces.
Growing up, he participated in METCO, traveling from Boston to attend school in a predominantly white suburban community. That experience exposed him early to different people, perspectives and environments, teaching him the importance of understanding not only what people communicate, but who gets heard.
That perspective followed me to Syracuse University, where I earned my degree in political science and spent four years immersed in student leadership, advocacy and community-building. Along the way, I discovered that some of my strongest work happened at the intersection of strategy, creativity and communication.
Now, as he continues his education in public relations at Syracuse’s Newhouse School, Al is building toward a career in corporate and strategic communications where I can help organizations navigate complex moments, tell meaningful stories and communicate with intention.
Never once has he wanted to fit neatly into one box.
Alhassan wants to understand the room, shape the message and create work that moves people.
